I wanted to continue swimming at a higher level in hopes to go to a four year as an athlete. I did not like or feel committed to the few colleges I got into out of high school.

Community college gave me the opportunity to feel out my passions, strive for something that I didn’t think I could have ever done in high school both academically (getting to a UC) and athletically (swimming and reaching a happy and full potential).

WHY ARE YOU SHARING?
I think people have a negative view about community college, and I want to be an example of how community college can/ does work. You can become excellent in more than one aspect of your life with the opportunity and flexibility community college provides.
SOMETHING I WISH I KNEW BEFORE I STARTED...
I wish I knew about the honors program and a few of the clubs at my community college before I started so I could start/join my first year rather than second and final year. Do your research!
